Pascagoula police say a man was killed Friday morning while climbing through a bedroom window at a local apartment complex.

Police Capt. Shannon J. Broom says officers found the body of 20-year-old Javorous Darnell Tims of Pascagoula, lying between two apartment buildings. Broom says Tims died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Broom says a woman told officers she woke about 1 a.m. when she heard a noise at her window and went to get her son. The son grabbed his handgun and fired two shots when he saw a man climbing through his mother’s window.
