Parker announces candidacy

(EDITOR’S NOTE: Donald L. Parker has announced his candidacy and released this statement.)

My name is Donald L. Parker, Democratic Candidate for re-election to the office of Picayune City Council, Precinct Two.

I am a life-long resident of Picayune. I am married to Polly (Haralson) Parker. We have been married for 41 years.

We are the proud parents of two children, Lamont Parker and Sylvia (Parker) Wilson, and have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

I am a graduate of George Washington Carver High School, 1966. Also I have attended classes for the last seven years at the Mississippi Municipal League Conventions on city and state government.

I am employed at Stennis Space Center with Jacobs Fosc and have been for 32 years. I am a member of the East Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.

I would appreciate your support to continue to serve not only Precinct Two but all the citizens of Picayune with honesty, integrity, loyalty, fairness, and experience for a better city.

Thank you.
