A proposal to consolidate Pascagoula’s two middle schools is drawing criticism from some parents.
Wayne Rodolfich, superintendent of the Pascagoula School District, says he will propose at an April 14 school board meeting that Trent Lott and Colmer middle schools consolidate their campuses. School board members could render their approval at the meeting.
If approved, Pascagoula sixth-graders would attend Trent Lott in August while seventh- and eighth-graders would attend Colmer.
Richard Torjusen, a father whose daughter would be a seventh-grader at Trent Lott, said he’s against the concept and the principal of an area Catholic school says if the consolidation passes, the parochial school could see a jump in enrollment.
