Jefferson announces candidacy

I, Robert Jefferson, known to some as “Mr. J.” I am running for Councilman in the 2nd Precinct here in Picayune. I am asking, “Will you vote for me during the May election for Councilman?” I will use my experience, knowledge, know how and most of all honesty if I am elected to represent you during the time I am in office.
I was born and raised in Picayune by two hardworking, church-going, respectable parents who were active in the community. They were Peter and Ethel Travis. I was in the Air Force in 1945-1951. I worked several years for Chrysler until my retirement. I am married to Lenora L. Jefferson. We have three children, three daughters, one deceased son and several grandchildren.
I have been a member of Weems Chapel United Methodist Church for about 60 years. I was taught by my parents, several elderly religious men and women staying closely to their teaching of morals, to be honest, trustworthy, and to continue to be faithful, courageous and loyal in life. I was chairman of the Trustee Board at Weems Chapel United Methodist Church, member on the planning commission and on a panel for community development.
Will you vote for Robert Jefferson? I am the person that will use experience, knowledge, integrity and honesty for the citizens in Precinct Two. You deserve better service!
Thank you.
