Gulfport escapee captured

The 31-year-old inmate who escaped from the Harrison County Community Work Center in Gulfport has been captured in Meridian.

Bobby Marsh, who is serving seven years for grand larceny from Lauderdale County, escaped Wednesday from his work detail with Harrison County Beat 2 work crew.

Investigators and Community Corrections field officers with the Mississippi Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (FAST) and officers with Meridian Police Department were involved in Marsh’s capture Wednesday night.

Marsh now faces an additional five-year sentence if convicted of escape. He is being held in the Lauderdale County Jail awaiting transport to the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl.
