A 10-year-old Warren County girl was killed when the four-wheeler she was riding flipped and crushed her.

The coroner says Morgan C. Caruthers died from injuries to her chest and abdomen.

Morgan’s father, Thomas A. “Tac” Caruthers, says his daughter loved the outdoors. The Redwood Elementary fifth-grader was driving one of the family’s four-wheelers on a trail around their home after school on Wednesday.

Tac Caruthers says the family was nearby. He says Morgan called him from a cell phone after the accident, but “I didn’t make it to her in time.”

Caruthers pulled the 4-wheeler off his daughter and started CPR before emergency workers arrived. Caruthers says Morgan was an experienced driver and was wearing a helmet.
