U.S. District Judge Glen Davidson has granted Hinds County Circuit Judge Bobby DeLaughter’s request to continue his trial on corruption charges.

The trial is now set for Aug. 17 instead of April 6, and still will be in Oxford.

DeLaughter, who is on suspension pending the completion of a judicial investigation, was indicted earlier this year on charges involving multimillionaire Dickie Scruggs.

A grand jury indicted DeLaughter on five counts: one count of involvement in a bribery scheme, one count of obstruction of justice and three mail-fraud counts of conspiracy.

He pleaded not guilty in federal court in February.
