UPDATE – Alabama man pleads guilty to robberies

An Alabama man has pleaded guilty to federal charges in six bank robberies in Mississippi.

Gary Clayton Walker of Chickasaw, Ala., entered the plead this week before U.S. District Judge Louis Guirola Jr.

Walker is scheduled to be sentenced June 16.

Walker is accused of robbing Hancock Bank in Pascagoula on March 6; Peoples Bank in Gautier on March 7; Citizens National Bank in Meridian on March 20; Citizens National Bank in Laurel on June 2; Citizens National Bank in Meridian on June 12; and Whitney Bank in Biloxi on July 1.

In January a federal judge in Mobile sentenced Walker to five years for robbing three banks in Gulf Shores, Slidell, La., and Fort Walton Beach, Fla., between March and May.
