Two die in La. interstate accident

A three-vehicle accident on Interstate 10 in St. Tammany Parish, La., left two people dead, one from Kiln and the other from Bay St. Louis.
A Picayune woman also was involved in the accident but was not injured, according to a press release from Troop L of the Louisiana State Police.
The accident occurred Saturday at about 2:30 p.m. on I-10 at the 267 mile marker. At that time, a 2004 Pontiac four-door driven by 18 year-old Casey M. Wilson of Bay St. Louis for an unknown reason left the westbound lane in which it was traveling and crossed the median onto the east bound lane into the path of a 2002 Honda Accord driven by by 26 year-old Erica R. Chatterlee of Picayune.
The Pontiac struck the rear of the Honda and was thenstruck on the passenger side by a 2005 Dodge van driven by 37 year-old Tammy A. Henderix of Slidell.
Wilson was pronounced dead on scene by Nick Culotta of the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s office due to injuries suffered in the accident. The release states that alcohol use by Wilson is unknown at this time but blood was taken for analysis.
Wilson’s passenger, Joshua T. Jackson, 22, of Kiln also was pronounced dead on scene due to injuries he suffered in the accident. Wilson is reported to have been wearing his seatbelt but Jackson was not.
Chatterlee and her two juvenile passengers were not injured in the accident, the release states. Both children and Chatterlee were wearing the proper restraints.
Henderix was carried to Slidell Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, the release states. She also was wearing her seatbelt, the release states.
