Patricia Lee is scheduled to be sworn in as tax collector of Washington County on Monday.

Gov. Haley Barbour signed a proclamation Wednesday that cleared the way for Lee’s swearing-in.

Lee, who was re-elected to a second term as tax collector in November 2007, wasn’t sworn in because she was suspended from office by the governor, pending the outcome of charges against her.

Lee was acquitted in Circuit Court on March 4 of two counts of attempting to defraud the state in an illegal car tag scheme.
