Owner of Miss. communications company dies

James S. Love III, owner of Love Communications Co. and former owner of WLOX-TV in Biloxi, died Monday at Gulfport Memorial Hospital. He was 64.

Love died of liver problems, according to family members.

Services will be held Thursday at St. Andrews Cathedral in Jackson, officials with Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson said Wednesday. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Love became chairman of Love Broadcasting Co., owner of WLOX, after the death of his father in 1972. The company expanded to include radio stations in Jackson and Savannah, Ga. and a television station in Medford, Ore. Love formed Love Communications Co. in 1990.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Joachim Gibson-Love of Biloxi; a son; two daughters and a sister.
