Mississippi’s unemployment rate was at 9.2 percent in February, according to figures from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security released Wednesday.

Mississippi’s unemployment rate for January was 9.3 percent. The national jobless rate was 8.9 percent for February.

The construction and manufacturing industries posted the highest job losses, according MDES figures.

Lamar and Rankin counties had the lowest jobless rate at 6 percent. Holmes County had the highest rate at 20 percent with Tunica County at 19.3 percent.
