Pearl River Central High School senior, Koty Cox, has been accepted into the Lions All-State Band. The Band, sponsored by the Lions of Mississippi, includes 145 members. Each year high school students from all over the state try out for an opportunity to participate in this band. Competition is keen, and those selected are among the state’s best. This is an honor and Cox will be first chair alto sax.

The MS Lions All-State Band has marched and played its way to first place in International Competition 25 times. This year the Lions International Convention will be held in Minneapolis, Minn., and Cox and the band will be there representing Mississippi and Mississippi Lions. The selected students are also known for their courtesy, good manners and proper behavior at these conventions. Many will receive scholarships to Mississippi colleges and universities.
