Jesse Furr McMullan Scoggin

Jesse Furr Scoggin a resident of Baton Rouge, La., and a native of Picayune, Miss., passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Hospice of Baton Rouge. She was 90.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Baton Rouge, Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. and Monday, March 2, 2009, from 10 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Religious services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Baton Rouge, with the Rev. Dick Gates officiating.

Interment will be in the Lane Mausoleum at Greenoaks Memorial Park, under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Jesse Ryals Furr and Ruby Thornhill Furr; her first husband, Chet McMullan; and a brother, John B. Furr.

Survivors include: her husband, Joe F. Scoggin of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Martha Ann McMullan Martin of Prairieville, and Jeannene McMullan Kogler of Baton Rouge; four sisters, Christine Carsley of Madison, Miss., Iva Loy Chambers of Hattiesburg, Thomasine Blackwell of Sherman, Texas, and Charleen Schrock of Picayune; one brother, David A. Furr of Monroe, La.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Hospice of Baton Rouge, or Cancer services of Baton Rouge.
