Two Hattiesburg men have been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

Police arrested John Newcomb and Christopher Thompson, both 18, after responding to a reported assault Sunday night.

Police spokesman Synarus Green said the victim had a prior association with the suspects. He declined to release further details about the incident.

Both suspects have been charged with one count of statutory rape and are being held at the Forrest County Jail.
