Mississippi will received $137 million from the federal stimulus to help screen candidates for the Medicaid program.
President Obama announced the funds Monday. The money will be available Wednesday, and covers a period that goes back to the start of the federal fiscal year last Oct. 1.
The Federal Medical Assistance Percentage funding helps pay for health care for the families hit hard by the economic crisis and some of the nation’s most vulnerable citizens.
