A homicide took place off of White Chapel Road Wednesday afternoon.

Ashe was taken into custody and emergency personnel tended to Tice, who was air lifted by LifeFlight to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Tice was pronounced dead at the hospital, Tucker said.

According to Ashe, there had been an ongoing dispute between the two men. Apparently an altercation between the two men occurred that afternoon as Ashe pulled up to his house after coming home from work. Ashe saw Tice approaching his vehicle and Ashe grabbed his gun. Ashe got out of his truck and pulled the gun on Tice, who kept coming at Ashe in spite of the gun in Ashe’s hand, Tucker said.

Tucker said evidence shows Ashe fired two shots at Tice, striking Tice once in the chest. Tice is reported not to have had a weapon on him, Tucker said.
