Medical Center Pharmacy on Kirkwood was burglarized Thursday night and narcotics apparently were the target of the thieves.
Capt. Bryan Dawsey with the Picayune Police Department said the department received a call Thursday morning that two suspects broke into the Medical Center Pharmacy and had been caught on tape.
The two suspects are described as white males in their late teens or early 20s about 6 feet tall, one wearing a camouflage jacket, blue jeans and a hooded shirt with the hood and a bandanna over his head and face. The second suspect was wearing a black and gray jacket possibly with a white stripe on it, jeans, and also had a hood and bandanna over his head. Both suspects were wearing gloves during the burglary, Dawsey said. On the video, it appeared as though one of the suspects may have been wearing glasses.
Entry to the pharmacy was gained at about 10:46 p.m. Wednesday by prying openthe rear door. A number of narcotics were taken from the pharmacy, and a list of the missing drugs was being compiled as of Thursday evening, Dawsey said.
No alarm sounded because the suspects cut the phone line before breaking into the business, Dawsey said. Witnesses said they saw a dark-colored, extended-cab truck with three people insided it in the area prior to the burglary. Dawsey said the surveillance tape acquired from the scene showed only two suspects entered the business. Dawsey said the third person may have acted as a lookout, waiting in the vehicle. The make and model of the truck is still under investigation.
Public Information Officer Theresa Milar asks anyone with any information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 601-799-CLUE (2583).
“Someone might have seen somebody out there and thought ‘oh, that’s so and so’ but didn’t think anything about it (at the time),” Milar said.
