An assistant professor at Mississippi State University says he’s been selected to contribute to an encyclopedia project on movies and culture.

Van Roberts believes he’s up to the task after saying he’s watched no less than 20,000 movies during his lifetime.

Roberts will contribute material for a comprehensive three-volume “Encyclopedia of Movies and American Culture” being issued by the Santa Barbara, Calif.-based ABC-CLIO next year.

The ABC-CLIO publishes reference and research material that focus on history resources for universities and secondary schools.

The movies Roberts is slated to analyze include “Patton,” The Postman Always Rings Twice,” “From Here to Eternity,” and “Dirty Harry.”
