Lumber chain closing Gulfport store

A lumber chain headquartered in Gulfport is closing its store there.
Bailey’s Lumber and Supply is keeping its offices there.
Owner Woody Bailey said store employees in Gulfport will be offered jobs at other Bailey’s stores in Bay St. Louis, Ocean Springs, Jackson, Brandon or Meridian.
He said the company hopes to reopen the store once things improve.
Bailey’s Lumber has shared the Gulfport market with home-improvement retailers Lowe’s and Home Depot for years. But Bailey said his company has a different type of business, selling mainly to home builders and contractors rather than homeowners.
