POPLARVILLE — After a rather lengthy break for the Thanksgiving Holiday and some testing in the classroom, Poplarville and Pearl River Central will renew a long-standing Pearl River County rivalry on the basketball court tonight.

The two local schools open Region 8-4A action as the Hornets and Lady Hornets host the Blue Devils and Lady Devils.

This will be the second of at least three and possibly four meetings between the teams this season, as they all met two weeks ago in the first round of the County Tournament with Poplarville winning both of those contests.

Picayune will be the final area team to join in the league fray as the Maroon Tide and Lady Tide will travel to D’Iberville on Tuesday.
