Brad Emile Guidroz Sr.

Funeral services will be held for Brad Emile Guidroz Sr., a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Poplarville, for the past 16 years.

Beloved husband and Pal of Marcella Rose Rodriguez Guidroz for 27 years. Loving father of Shelly G. Centannie and Brad Guidroz, Jr. Caring stepfather of Johnny Clontz and Roland Dean, Jr. Father-in-Law of Paula St. Blanc Clontz, Wendy Haas Dean, Nick Centannie and Brenda Julian Guidroz. Grandfather of Nicholas, Luke, Sarah, Bethany and Emma Rose Centanni, Najah, Braelynn, Braeyan, Najay, and Brenden Guidroz, Jennifer, Jessica, Dalton, and Colton Clontz, L. J. Haas, and special ‘Paw Dad’ to Kori, Trey, and Cody Dean. Brother of Huey T. Guidroz. Brother-in-law of Dianne Lambert, Rev. David Rodriguez (Linda), Deborah Rodriguez, Gail Soong (Ray), Sylvia McDougald (Pat), and Melinda C. Guidroz. Son of the late Emile Joseph and Frances Guidry Guidroz. Loyal shrimping buddy of Jo Jo Bondi. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Brad was a 1967 graduate of West Jefferson High School. After attending Nicholls State College, he joined the U. S. Army during the height of the Viet Nam War and served three years in Anchorage, Alaska with the 33rd Signal Battalion. Upon his discharge, he began working for Halliburton Services where he became a Chief Engineer on the ‘222’ until 1983 when he bought his first ‘Skiff” and became a very successful commercial fisherman. Brad, along with his wife Marcella, managed Firetower Hunt Club in Poplarville, MS for many years. He was a hard working, generous man who helped everyone he could in some way.

Family, friends, shrimping buddies, congregation of Christian Fellowship Church, member of Firetower Hunt Club, Coldwell Banker Country Properties, Inc., and member of Pearl River Board of Realtors are invited to attend visitation services on Sunday, December 21, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune. Then a funeral service at Christian Fellowship Church at 5049 Ehret Road, Marrero, La. on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 1 p.m. Visitation from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Interment will be at Westlawn Cemetery with the Rev. David Rodriguez officiating.
