Voter Turnout

Turnout was large for the presidential election of 2008 in Pearl River County. Most precincts in the Picayune area reported people waiting in line to vote even before the polls opened. That large turnout led to long waits in some precincts even hours after the polls opened. The longest wait was reported at South Side Elementary at about 2 hours.
