At least 10 people have been taken to Gulf Coast hospitals after a multi-vehicle accident on the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 in Jackson County near the Mississippi-Alabama state line.

There were no reported fatalities. The conditions of the injured were not immediately available. The injured were taken to hospitals in Ocean Springs and Pascagoula.

The Highway patrol says there was heavy fog early Thursday morning in the area near Mississippi Welcome Center.

Troopers say a tractor-trailer rig and seven cars were involved.
