Laurent pleads guilty to embezzlement

Leo Laurent pleaded guilty today to charges that he embezzled money from a CVS pharmacy in 2006.

Laurent, currently being held at the Pearl River County jail, entered his plea Monday morning, Pearl River County Distric Attorney Hal Kittrell told the Sun Herald.

He is scheduled to be sentenced tomorrow by Circuit Judge Michael Eubanks.

He also faces murder charges in the death of his wife Brandi Hawkins Laurent, whose body was found in Hancock County in November 2007.
