Iowa man charged with home repair fraud

A 40-year-old Iowa man is facing a felony home repair fraud charge involving work he allegedly did on the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina.

Attorney General Jim Hood said Monday that the charge against Andrew James Blauvelt of Wellman, Iowa, stems from a complaint filed by a Pass Christian resident.

Hood says much of the work done by Blauvelt, a contractor, and his workers was found to be below normal construction standards and had to be redone.
