Former clerk charged in $63K embezzlement

A former payroll and accounting clerk for Smith County has been indicted on embezzlement charges for allegedly using more than $62,000 in taxpayer money for her personal use.

Telicha Nobles is accused of embezzling $63,432 from the county between February 2006 and August 2007.

A Smith County grand jury Indicted Nobles in October. Smith County sheriff’s officials processed her on Wednesday, and she was released from jail on her own recognizance.
