Mississippi’s Old Capitol museum will have its grand opening on Jan. 10 in Jackson.

The $14.2 million restoration was undertaken in 2006 after the Old Capitol was damaged in Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and was forced to close.

The focus of the museum will shift from Mississippi history to the history of the building and government in action.
