Monroe County Sheriff Andy Hood says the shooting death of a 20-year-old Smithville woman appears to have been a planned murder-suicide.
However, Amanda Christine Suggs’ assailant, 20-year-old Casey Young of Mooreville, remained in critical condition Friday in a Tupelo hospital.
Hood says Suggs’ body was found Wednesday night in the front yard of a Smithville residence. She died from a gunshot to the head.
Hood says Young also was found at the scene with a gunshot wound in the head. He was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Hood says the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute.
