Richard K. Buckman, a Mississippi political consultant, will be sentenced Dec. 8 on misdemeanor changes of income tax evasion.
Buckman was scheduled for sentencing Monday but it was continued after Buckman’s attorney filed a motion to no longer represent him.
Buckman, of Hattiesburg, earlier pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to two counts of failing to file income tax returns on gross incomes of $208,657 in 2002 and $62,755 in 2003. Two other counts were dropped.
Buckman is facing penalties of up to one year in prison and $25,000 in fines on each of the two counts against him. The plea agreement also instructs Buckman to pay $181,714 to the Internal Revenue Service.
