Three teenagers have been arrested and charged with capital murder in the slaying of a Lamar County man who had stopped at a Moss Point convenience store to ask for directions.
Moss Point Detective Joycelyn Craig said Monday police arrested 15-year-old Darwin Wells, 15-year-old Terry Hye Jr. and 17-year-old Alonzo Kelly in the slaying of 44-year-old Michael David Porter. All three are charged as adults.
Porter was shot Thursday night when he stopped to ask for directions to the Forrest County Agricultural High School-Gautier High School football game in Gautier after he and his wife had missed their highway exit. Police say the Porters were going to the game to watch their grandson play.
Craig said the shooting was the result of an attempted armed robbery.
