First Lady Laura Bush will make a campaign appearance with Republican U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker this week on the Gulf Coast.

Mrs. Bush is to appear Thursday with Wicker and his wife, Gayle, and Gov. Haley Barbour at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, a children’s museum in Gulfport.

Mississippi Republican Party officials say the plan is to open the doors of the gymnasium at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center at 12:45 p.m. The doors will be closed at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Bush is to arrive about 2:30 p.m. and leave about 3:30 p.m.

Wicker faces Democrat Ronnie Musgrove in the Nov. 4 election.
