Jackson Co. supervisors to detail jail crowding

Officials say Jackson County supervisors will meet with a Pascagoula civic club to outline problems with overcrowding at the county’s Adult Detention Center.
Tuesday’s presentation is among several planned by supervisors before voters decide on November 4 whether the county should borrow $22 million to pay for a new 548-bed jail.
Supervisors spent $30,000 on materials and a computer presentation that board spokesman Ken Flanagan says is for informational purposes only and does not involve comments about voting for or against the jail loan.
Flanagan says the board just wants voters to have all the facts.
