Two sets of search warrants led to the arrest of three suspects, but a fourth suspect is still on the loose.

On Oct. 7 investigators with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant at 22 Jeff Smith Rd., Poplarville. No one was home during the search but the investigators found chemicals suspected to be used in the manufacture of methamphetamine and a lab suspected to be producing the drug, said Chief Investigator Donnie Saucier.

While investigators were waiting on a Hazmat crew to arrive to clean up the lab, 27 year-old Barbara Overstreet, who lives at the address, came home. She was taken into custody and charged with possession of precursor chemicals and manufacture of methamphetamine. Investigators also found she had warrants pending for malicious mischief, larceny and trespassing, Saucier said.

Overstreet’s 41 year-old boyfriend, Clinton Saucier, is still being sought on the same drug charges. Donnie Saucier said investigators were able to make contact with him, but Clinton Saucier did not indicate his intentions concerning turning himself in. Clinton Saucier is still at large. Anyone with information about Clinton Saucier’s whereabouts can call the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department at 601-749-7700 or 601-795-2241.

On Oct. 8, a routine traffic stop gave the department enough information to obtain another search warrant and arrest another suspect on drug charges. Deputies conducted the traffic stop on Hwy. 53 and found Richard Martin, 38, of 163 Hadley Rd., Poplarville behind the wheel.

During the stop the deputy, through undisclosed investigative techniques, got enough information to obtain a search warrant for investigators, Donnie Saucier said. A search was conducted on Martin’s home where investigators found about 41 grams of marijuana and 10.4 grams of methamphetamine. Martin’s wife, 34 year-old Joyce Martin, was at the home at the time of the search and was taken into custody. She was charged with felony possession of marijuana.

Richard Martin was charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute as a result of the search, Donnie Saucier said. As a result of the initial traffic stop Martin was charged with DUI, no turn signal and disregard of a traffic device.
