Two women and five men are hospitalized with injuries after a pleasure boat crashed into the Bay of St. Louis Bridge and sank.
Rescue teams pulled three of the boaters from the chilly waters of the bay following the Sunday night accident near the Harrison county side of the 2-mile span. Four others were rescued from one of the large pilings that support the bridge.
Pass Christian Police Lt. Dwight Gordan said seven were taken to Memorial Hospital in Gulfport with serious injuries, including head trauma and broken bones.
Gordan said one of the victims used a cell phone to call for help.
