Three people have died and a fourth person was hospitalized after a one-car accident in the Diamondhead community.

Authorities say 21-year-old Patrick Gardner of Diamondhead, the driver of the car, and passengers 21-year-old Nicholas Welch and 16-year-old Kayla Ladner were killed in the accident.

A fourth passenger, a 17-year-old whose name has not been released, was in guarded condition Wednesday at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.

Harrison County Sheriff’s Investigator Matthew Carver says it appeared the car left the road and hit a pine tree in the median.
