Vicksburg man guilty in killing near store

A 22-year-old Vicksburg man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after being convicted of killing another man near a convenience store.

Jason Davis was sentenced this week by Warren County Circuit Judge Frank Vollor.

Davis was charged with murder in 2007 shooting death of 21-year-old Thaddeus Jeffery.

Davis had claimed he acted in self defense, according to court records.

Authorities say the men were involved in an ongoing feud.

Authorities say Jeffery was shot twice in the back.
