After reporting that his prescription medication was stolen by another individual, the alleged victim, the suspect and the suspect’s wife were all charged with a crime.

On Sept. 5, at about 5 p.m. Pearl River County Sheriff’s Deputies were called out to the home of 62 year-old Wayne Williams, 98 Emmett Meitzler Road, said Chief Deputy Shane Tucker.

When the deputies arrived, they were informed by Williams that he suspected Howard Ard Jr. had stolen medication from him. A narcotics unit was sent out to the home of 52 year-old Ard, 4 Emily Lane. While speaking with Ard, investigators discovered that there were several pill bottles in his car in other people’s names.

The investigation provided the investigators with information that Ard had not stolen the meds, but in fact was allegedly working with Williams to secure medication. Apparently Ard would pay for Williams to see a doctor and get prescriptions for the medication. Tucker said it appeared as though Ard paid for Williams’ doctor visit and for the medication. In exchange the two allegedly would would split the medication between them.

The investigation also turned up evidence that Ard’s wife, Irene Ard, 49, also of 4 Emily Lane, was involved in the illegal activity, Tucker said.

Irene Ard, Williams and Howard Ard were all charged with transfer of a controlled substance, Tucker said.
