Hospital firm putting $5M complex in Magee

Pioneer Health Services expects to have its headquarters in one location within the next nine to 10 months when it opens a $5 million, 30,000-square-foot office in Magee.

The company manages four Mississippi hospitals and does billing for 35 others across the country. It offices are now spread among six locations.

Simpson County received a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant to build roads and water and sewer lines at the site.

Pioneer mostly works with critical access hospitals, sites which provide primary care medical services but don’t perform major medical procedures such as heart surgeries.

Pioneer owns a hospital in Aberdeen and manages hospitals in Forest, Collins and Newton.
