Miss. gets $3.2 M grant to help crime victims

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety is getting a $3.2 million federal grant.

The money will go to local community organizations so they can help crime victims or their survivors.

Democratic U.S. Representative Bennie Thompson announced the Department of Justice grant on Tuesday. The Mississippi Democrat is chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.
