Authorities say the death of an inmate may have been caused by an allergic reaction to pills he got from another prisoner.

Solomon “Dewey” Harris, a 44-year-old prisoner, was to be tried in December on a murder charge.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace says Harris was taken to River Region Medical Center on August 11. He died Monday.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey says it appears the inmate had an allergic reaction to the pills.

Harris was accused of killing 48-year-old Harold R. Scott in November 2007 at Scott’s home in Vicksburg.
