Officials say 1st Lt. Donald C. Carwile, a 29-year-old Oxford resident, died Aug. 15 along with another soldier, Pfc. Paul E. Conlon Jr., 21, of Somerville, Mass.
The Department of Defense said Tuesday the men were killed after their vehicle hit a roadside bomb and came under attack from small arms and rocket-propelled grenades.
