Please check the number and dial again

A wrong number lead to one suspect’s arrest.

Sunday, Antonio Marcus Irwin mistakenly dialed the number of an employee of a law enforcement agency looking to sell some marijuana said, Picayune Police Department Public Information Officer Capt. Theresa Milar. That law enforcement employee, who was employed by another law enforcement agency, contacted the Picayune Police Department.

A time was set up to meet the suspect looking to allegedly sell the controlled substance. Allegedly positive identification was established by a description of the vehicle the suspect would be in.

Officers arrived at the designated meet point, located at 101 S. Beech St., also known as the Road Runner quick stop, Milar said. There they arrested Irwin, 18, of 1601 Sixth Ave., #1, and charged him with conspiracy to commit a crime. Irwin was not charged with possession of marijuana, Milar said.
