Thursday morning, Sidney “Highdollar” Barnes was apparently attempting to get back into his locked house when he was trapped by a window and died.

The death occurred as Barnes tried to climb through a bathroom window of a mobile home, located at 2320 Mark St., in Picayune.

Apparently after Barnes, 52, who resides at that address, locked himself out of the home. To get back in, he used a chair to climb into the bathroom window, said Pearl River County Coroner Derek Turnage.

Emergency personnel received a call concerning a man hanging out of a window at that address at about 6 a.m. When they arrived, they found Barnes hanging high off the ground in the mobile home window.

Turnage said it appears as though Barnes climbed into the window to gain access to his home. During that attempt the window closed on his back, pinning him in the window suspending him so that pressure was put on his chest. An autopsy performed in Gulfport concluded that Barnes died due to accidental asphyxiation.
