The federal government has released a new safety video that focuses on a 2006 explosion that left three dead at an oilfield near Raleigh.
The nine-minute video is based on the U.S. Chemical Safety Board’s final report on the incident.
The report concluded the explosion occurred when sparks when a welding operation ignited flammable vapors from a storage tank. The victims were employees of Stringer’s Oilfield Services, which was hired to perform maintenance on storage tanks at the oilfield.
