A number of complaints from Hillsdale area residents lead to the arrest of a husband and wife suspected of selling marijuana.

Lt. Donnie Saucier, an investigator with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department, said complaints from residents in the Hillsdale community prompted them to check into the claims. Those claims lead to the arrest of Holly J. Bozanic, 44, and Bryan Bozanic, 43, both of 46 West Timber Bluff Road, Lumberton.

The investigation stemmed from allegations that the couple was selling marijuana to community members in Hillsdale, Saucier said. It has also been alleged that the couple was selling the substance from out of their home.

Saucier said investigators arrived at the home of the couple, which is in Pearl River County, and inquired if Holly Bozanic had any illegal substances on her. Holly Bozanic produced a half ounce of marijuana and told the investigator that it was for personal use. A written consent to search the home was secured as a result of the half ounce of marijuana, and investigators found a total of 128 grams of marijuana between the kitchen freezer and the bedroom, a .38 caliber revolver, two scales and about $7,595 in currency. Saucier said the currency was spread out through the home in about $1,000 increments.

Both suspects were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm.

“We work all ends of the county. So drug dealers in the north end are not excluded from our enforcement procedures,” Saucier said.
