The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality has awarded the City of McComb a $34.4 million loan to help build a new wastewater treatment facility.

The department says the loan will be repaid over 20 years beginning after the project is completed.

Funding for the Water Pollution Control Revolving Loan Fund is provided by grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, state matching funds, repayments from previous loans and interest earnings on fund deposits.
