The University of Mississippi Medical Center says Robert Purnell of Jackson, injured last month in a collision between a garbage truck and an Amtrak train, has been released from the hospital.
A UMC spokeswoman says the 44-year-old Purnell was released Tuesday.
Purnell and John Brown, both in the garbage truck, were taken to UMC following the May 27 collision at a crossing north of Crystal Springs.
The 44-year-old Brown has been listed in serious condition at UMC since Monday.
The accident remains under investigation by Copiah County authorities and the Federal Railroad Administration.
