The total tab to purchase a resident recreational saltwater fishing license in Mississippi as of July 1 will be $11.85.

That includes a $10 fee for the license plus an 85-cent processing fee and a $1 agent fee.

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources notes that for about 3 cents a day, resident anglers can go sportfishing in the state’s marine waters for a year.

Residents ages 16 through 64 must hold a resident saltwater sportfishing license for all recreational methods of finfish harvest in marine waters, which are waters south of Interstate 10.

Nonresident fees vary.
