One of two bank robbers convicted of robbing a BankPlus in Clinton last December has been sentenced to five years in prison and four years of supervised release.

Langcola Mouton, of Lafayette, La., pleaded guilty in March to bank robbery with a deadly weapon and was sentenced Monday.

Police say Mouton, Christopher Tarrio and an unidentified man drove a white Toyota Camry to the bank and, while she waited in the car, the two men entered wearing ski masks and brandishing handguns. The pair took $31,950 and fled with Mouton.

Law enforcement spotted the getaway vehicle and a pursuit ensued. Mouton, who was driving, wrecked the car and she and Tarrio were arrested following a foot chase.

Authorities found one of the weapons allegedly used in the robbery along with $30,907. The third suspect remains at large.

Tarrio, who pleaded guilty to bank robbery and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, faces sentencing July 11.
